Could not agree more. I have often used W1AW on 28067.5 kHz to gauge
propagation and adjust my CW cq calling times.

W1AW had a very strong signal here, last night, during the CW bulletin. In addition to the CW bulletin they broadcast Code Practice and Voice announcements.
Long before the proliferation of beacons W1AW was one of the methods I used to gauge path conditions AND, it still works.
FYI: Voice=28.590, CW=28.0675 and Data=28.095 MHz.
