...or, how to avoid unneeded bandwidth usage.

The point of this email is not to attack anyone for any statements said...
I just want to share my list of things to avoid in public mailing lists.

Don'ts
-------
All names have been removed to help protect innocent/guilty.

>>"Hopefully so-and-so will learn from this experience and think twice
next time before taking cheap shots"

Talking down and patronizing people is not healthy in real or internet
life,
this kind of off-topic blather is a good at fuelling fires and taking
away from Haiku development resources.

>>"The constant patronizing tone you employ is extremely
>> annoying, specially when you're telling a developer how to do his job."

While this statement may be true, stating it in a ever-growing
slap-fight thread is not needed.

>>"And exactly where in the discourse of my emails ... did I say anything
blunt,
>> patronizing or disrespectful, or did I tell a developer how to do his
job?"

Off topic, this is not needed. An OS mailing list is not somewhere to
defend your honour.

>>"I want to propose that so-and-so be banned from Haiku mailing lists."

Childish and not justified. No one is king of the mailing lists.

>>"Maybe you need to find another place for your emotional outbursts."

See the first example, Talking down and patronizing people is not
healthy in real or internet life.

Dos
--------
 * If you think something someone said is a personal attack... Just ignore
it... or email them directly.
   - We are all adults here (well.. most of us), focus on the real goal...
The warm, warm, Haiku filling.

 * If your planning an all-out brawl.. do it in IRC where we can laugh at
you. (in real time!)

 * If someone is being a jerk, ignore them and don't reply. Without fuel
fires die.

In accordance to the rules above, I will not be replying to any responses
to this email. ;)

On a more positive note.. how bout' them Google summer of code students?!
