Ya know...  I'm wondering how obvious it is to think of reading the
(normally hidden) header, if one casually joins a list.  I remember
having to ask in the early days!

There doesn't appear to be a footer at all.  Mutt isn't sophisticated enough 
to hide it, and it's not there in the mailbox files.

Yeah.  Adding a short always visible footer ("to Unsubscribe from the list, 
send mail
to 'haiku-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe';  No content required") 
should
be simple and helpful. Better than deep in the normally hidden header.
