in case you're wondering: this was caused by my (obviously incomplete) work on 
consolidating the (host- and folder-)names of the VMs. The aim is to always use 
'vm' as a prefix for all names that relate to a VM. 
Of course, the additional DNS entries for svn, dev, and www.haiku-os.org will 
stay :-) it's just that the hostnames of the VMs and their names on the backup 
server are now all using the vm prefix.

The above error should be fixed now.
