IMHO, it could work. I could even live with it not showing drives in the 
window version of the Desktop folder. That would still somehow make sense 
to me. But on the other hand, Desktop is always displayed as containing 
drives, like in the navigation menu, so maybe that's a bad idea after all. 
In any case, I am a 100% fan of using Tracker in spatial mode, but allowing 
multiple windows of the same folder on different workspaces and with 
different settings is one feature I absolutely love.
