Hi,
In a fairly recent hrev51670 I'm having USB problems -- mostly MIDI,
but maybe my mouse, too. There might be something is syslog to
help, but it's impossible to find, because there's a flood of meesages
there that completely defeat any search!
I see this:
....
KERN: check_sense: encountered DEFERRED ERROR - bye, bye
KERN: usb hub 2: port 4 is not suspended
KERN: usb hub 2: port 4 is not in an over current state
KERN: usb hub 2: port 4 was reset
KERN: usb hub 2: port 5 is not suspended
KERN: usb hub 2: port 5 is not in an over current state
KERN: usb hub 2: port 5 was reset
KERN: usb hub 2: port 6 is not suspended
KERN: usb hub 2: port 6 is not in an over current state
KERN: usb hub 2: port 6 was reset
KERN: usb hub 2: port 7 is not suspended
KERN: usb hub 2: port 7 is not in an over current state
KERN: usb hub 2: port 7 was reset
KERN: check_sense: encountered DEFERRED ERROR - bye, bye
....repeat endlessly.
I have no idea what this means, but it appears identically in
my older PM partition, whereas MIDI USB there is flawless. I don't
see it in an even older pre-PM syslog.
Any way to suppress this, or suggestions on other ways to track
down the problem? (which is that plugging in a device doesn't always
appear in /dev/usb, and unplugging it doesn't clear its entry --
but makes it unusable if replugged.)
Thanks,
