I should explain though that Word Services is a publicly-documented interapplication protocol. The protocol spec needs some work, but the important details of the protocol have been in place since BeOS R3 or so. The reason I point this out is that I would like some of the software that's distributed with Haiku itself to support Word Services. StyledEdit and Pe would be very appropriate clients. I wouldn't expect anybody to support Word Services until I get the SDK and the protocol spec completely polished, but once I do I hope you'll consider it.
