About the vote: I think that it is beyond the scope of development to
decide on wiki content. I must say that I am in favour of separating
the main website as source of news and general information and
detailed information into different domains. Whether this should be
hosted by Drupal or not, time and the requirements will tell.

I think we agree :) the vote idea is not about content (or i misread you), but about whether we want an open documentation platform, the wiki format being the existing solution that best approaches that concept.

So please share your findings, like what wil be transferred, how will
the data be structured, how is quality controlled and how does it
interact with our other web outlets (www/dev/svn). Then share your
findings with the different wikis and how this matches the
requirements.

It sounds like I am asking you to do everything, but there probably
are many others that are in favour so delegate :-)

Eventually we can then decide on how to continue.

It will be well structured and of very good quality :) Anyway, i was just saying that i've done some research on the subject, but i believe that one can find enough good examples on the web to make one's opinion. That's something i'd like to see in the future, so i'm pushing the idea whenever a situation like this pops up, trying to gauge the temperature here. At present unfortunately my haiku time is already well employed, and i fear i'm already putting to much stuff on my plate (if even just time for mail discussion) (and everyone is busy as hell :)).

Best regards,
Alex
