Ah, that would explain why I couldn't find anything that looked like
the serial device file.

The problem could be in my cabling, or it could be in the Linux box
that I'm attempting to use to display the serial debug output.

I'd hock my firstborn for a breakout box.

I have an old Windows box - I'll see if I can get that to talk to the
Linux box.  That would eliminate two potential sources of trouble.

I'd like to learn to write Haiku device drivers.  Maybe a good job for
me would be to update the serial driver to work with the current TTY
layer.  I'm experienced with embedded and Mac OS X drivers, so I ought
to be able to write them for Haiku as well.
