I'm OK with this change. I almost never use the zoom button and if I
do, I can live very well with the bit narrower window - probably even
appreciate it. After all I rarely use the full width of the screen for
an app; most of the time there are several windows side-by-side or
overlapping (S&T).
Generally, this zoom behaviour change does nothing to the more common
problem of windows obscuring the Deskbar. You'll always move some
window around that'll end up overlapping the Deskbar.
This becomes esp. annoying should you happen to be a top/bottom
bar-heretic. Not so much for us adhering to the true position - top
left - like the Gods intended...
To me, doing "auto-lower" after the Deskbar was "auto-raised" would
solve reduce a grievance that's much more frequent than the zooming
behaviour. [1]
But, like I said, I'd be OK with the proposed change.
