and I don't think we even need a setting like looncraz suggests, but
we'll see what others think.

Personally, not a fan of losing desktop real estate for the deskbar.
I think we could get the same effect by taking better advantage of
window tabs. If the window tabs auto-arrange (which was an option in
"Crystal Tracker" years ago I believe..) then it replaces a need for a
visible app list.
