Hmmm, is the nature of BFS such that it would not work well on Flash
hard drives? Or could there be a "Flash-mode" added without having to

Exactly. That's why it would last a couple of weeks. :)

As far as I understood from our computer engineering department, this is all about the limited number of Flash write cycles. So even if the number of writes is reduced a little bit by some optimizing file system implementation, it's still not the brightest of all ideas, lifetime-wise.
