This is actually a growing problem that quite a lot of packages don't
say what they are for. Some have one-liners, some have a paragraph, and
some have FIVE paragraphs (e.g. xz-utils was this way, before I cut it
down to its current state).

This once again raises the problem that we have no style guide for
packages...

I guess you are right. It seems so unfortunate that one can't rely on common sense. Like, uhm, 'description' is where you *describe* the package. No, we have to explicitely say "describe" means to "tell what it is good for".
