I think maximized windows are not really an useful thing. I'm curious,
what do you use them for ?
I'm quite happy with a combination of :
 * Custom sized
 * Sized to content (like tracker)
 * Fullscreen (when watching a video for example)

I think people feel the need for maximizing only because they are used
to it in other OSes. Am I wrong ?

I'm not sure fullscreen needs a dedicated button in the decorator. A key
shortcut or a button somewhere in the UI seems fine.
