   I am not sure why this is occuring but there is no old syslog.which
 would "according to my reading " here http://www.haiku-
 os.org/documents/dev/system_logging should cuase the log file to reset and
 be renamed oldsyslog once it reachs 512kb, which has not occured yet. I
 checked the config but for some reason its just not putting the data into
 the log.
