Resolved. GLTeapot does not support 8bpp at all, on any video driver.
1. Originally, I tested with the GLTeapot already running when I changed
the video driver's color space setting. GLTeapot remained functional on
some video drivers, but triggerred the error on the Nvidia video driver.
2. Second test. If GLTeapot is (re)started with the video driver's color
space setting is 8bpp - GLTeapot crashes immediately with the same error
(using any of the mentioned video drivers). GLTeapot works fine in the
16bpp/32bpp color settings with the same video drivers.
