Comment:
The IRC channel requires authentication with NickServ (instructions on how
to do this: https://freenode.net/faq.shtml#nicksetup) in order to post
messages, because lately there have been a large number of trolls in the
channel. Requiring NickServ authentication cuts down on said trolls
because it forces users to register an account and verify their email.
I suppose we could add that link to the topic of the channel if there are
enough people confused about how to use NickServ...
