and the seagulls perch on the dam and fish or nab one in the air for those
alewife jumping up to get past the dam; sometimes raptors dive. Best place to
see is on the Watertown Square side of the boardwalk “pier” or the other side
by the fish ladder—if you can get through the fishermen (there is a posted
limit). Enjoy, but be safe. Masks required in Watertown by midnight and MA
Wed., but be caring and wear one today. Also, hopeful try: please wear mask if
you are on your own property which adjoins a public sidewalk so walkers don’t

sparkle in the light when they get flustered and show their fins above the
water. (To see them, you have to stare into the still eddies.) They're about
8-10 inches long. Supposedly they're going up the fish ladder, but we
couldn't see any there. Some bigger fish (bass, I've been told) are
circulating at the buffet.
