There used to be some relationship with weather—the direction planes had to fly
out of Boston regardless of where going. As i recall, cloudy weather sent them
over us. Who knows the reasons now. There have been committees for decades.
Definitely call if you notice a difference ( I havent, but rarely have. Poor
hearing? Kids loved seeing them). Tell our Reps also. They are responsive and
may have info.
Stay safe,
Barbara

This has been going on for years though there was a glimmer of hope a few
years back that it might improve. See this Watertown News article from 2017.

I was wondering about that. What is the alternative to the planes flying over
Watertown? They fly over a different community? Or is there a different
alternative?

It's because of the "gentrification" happening near the airport.... They
didn't care so much about the noise they caused when poor people lived there
but now that money is moving in, and they're all complaining too, they have
to reroute some of the planes over other neighborhoods.

Hello Neighbors,
The airplane noise this week and especially this morning has been
intolerable.
If it is bothering you, call the Massport Airline Complaint Number:
617-561-3333. If you call on weekends or after hours you can leave a
recorded message and the office will return your call.
Our U.S. Representative, Katherine Clark, is on the Quiet Skies Caucus:
https://nqsc.org/Caucus.html. You can contact her office as well: ;

Loud airplane noise and airplane exhaust pollution is linked to a variety
of human health issues including high blood pressure, learning delays in
children, and stress.
Wishing you all deep and restful sleep and a happy summer.
