When I have tried this in the past, it has not worked because I am told that 
ie is already there and you cannot remove ie unless you use the windows cd 
which can be a nightmare to navigate in that components panel.

one of the best options to repair I.E. 6 & outlook may be to reinstall the
I.E. i think, the problem shoould be resolved with the reinstallation.
