all the guide dogs do have a microchip in them now and i have got my pet dog
micro chipped so at least they can be identified that way .but it is law that a
dog should have its owners name and address on a tag on there collar but the
trainer who was training georgia with tilly was a dog warden to and told us
that .plus when dogs even the guide dogs who are doing there good citizen award
would not pass if they do not have the correct info on there tag when the
kennel club person comes to test them .donna

I feel it is important that our dogs always carry some sort of ID. Actually I
feel very strongly about pet dogs as well, especially in this day and age when
so many dogs are stolen, often to order, for resale, or who knows what other
nefarious purposes. It's just my opinion mind you, but if anyone's dog got out
and could not be traced, I feel they would probably - and quite rightly in my
view - be in for some stick from GDBA.

I use a plain red slightly padded collar and Kiki's harness, i havn't used the
half check collar for a long time and at night at home Kiki doesn't wear a
collar, even though you are told to do this when you are training with the
instructor, Sarah.

  I don't use a half-check at all. I've got one, but it's a long time since Zym
wore it. A plain collar and harness seems quite enough to me.

just curious as to what other people do. do u take the dog's half check
collar off after working and put on the play collar or do any of u leave
the
half checks on most of the time. i know there r a couple of different types
of half checks. the ones we use r the type that u have to take on and off
over the head which r a bit awkward. i usually take callie's off in the
evening and put on her play collar.
