Bill,
Technically the specs list it as 6.2 miles. Of course assuming total line of
sight on a perfect weather day and a fuill battery in and out.
The farthest I have gone to date is about 16,000 feet getting a shot from Devu
park in Covington sending it to the west end neighborhood (near Music Hall) .
So the battery once it got there was down to 56% so I went pretty much back
right away. It generally when you get down to 20% starts wanting to head home
and you have to start overriding those prompts, but generally it’s a good idea
not to push it because after a certain point it will just land and that might
be in a river, middle of I-75, a roof or power line, or in a forest with a
million branches<g>.
It is currently illegal to fly 30 min after sundown unless you have a specific
waiver. Without street or building lights it would not have picked up much
even though we did have a brilliant moon.

Great views.
What's the range of that drone?
Did you include a night drone display?

Here featuring drone shots (Mavic Air 2) of the Gorge and our winter backpack
camp in Red River Gorge is a compilation from this weekend. It was pretty
close to the Nada tunnel and drone shots show that proximity. The Gorge is
indeed still one of the most beautiful places we as a group have camped at.

I’ll be updating this so if you see any landmarks I did not label let me know
timecode and where in the frame I can identify.
