I would be glad to proofread the newsletter when it is ready. I suggest we only
give them an overview of the types of sessions available, then include the link
to that specific page. Below is my suggestion:
GSIS Savannah 2015 is less than a month away. We feel we have a lot of sessions
that you and your data reporting staff won’t want to miss. We currently have
sessions offered by GaDOE, GSFC, Aspen, Infinite Campus, and PowerSchool, and
we are working with other SIS vendors such as SunGard and Tyler for additional
sessions. (STEVE – I need some session titles for Tyler if they are going to
offer any). The current list of sessions is on our website on our Conference
Sessions<http://www.gsisusers.org/conference-session-proposals> page. Check
back often as additional sessions are still being planned.
The conference rate of $230 is in effect until the first day of the conference
(you don’t want to say that Early Bird has expired). Hotel accommodations are
the responsibility of the attendee, and a number of local hotels are offering
attendees a discounted rate. Registration and hotel discounts are listed on our
Conference Registration<http://www.gsisusers.org/conference-info> page. We are
still looking for presenters, so if you would like to have your registration
paid for, offer to present at least 2 sessions. Contact us by email at
gsisusergroup@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:gsisusergroup@xxxxxxxxx> to offer to present. (I
would prefer that they email now so that I don’t have to review each
registration form in RegOnline).
I need for one of our PowerSchool people to get with Paula Crowley to determine
which sessions she will offer. When that is decided, I need to add them to the
website.
InfoSnap started to register but did not complete it. I need for the person
working with them to follow up to see if they need assistance registering.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas.
Don’t worry Kathy, we will have you working at the conference, especially on
Wednesday.
It appears all of the vendors have paid, so we are good there. I know Flora
has/is sick. Kathy, will you check with her and see if she needs help in
getting the newsletter out? We just more or less just need to modify it
removing the early bird special and remind them that there are X many of days
and give them a list of classes currently being offered with a disclaimer that
it may change. Also, let those who did not pay by the 31st of December will
need to pay the higher price. If you don’t have time, I will see if I can.
Just let me know.
Remember we have a meeting on January 14th in Macon. Donna, would you reserve
our usual place?
Carolyn, have you had a chance to have your lawyer friend to look over the
bylaws?
Twayna, would you mind getting the minutes out to us, so I can figure out what
I need on the agenda? My mind is still scrambled from my visit with my aunt
over the holidays.
Can anyone think of anything else?

Wow...only 29 days until GSIS 2015! I'm excited! But I'm also apprehensive. I
feel like I should be doing something. Should I be doing something? (Other than
hounding vendors, I mean.) Am I forgetting some big task I've been given?
Should I be panicking, or is that just me over functioning?
I'm probably over functioning. I just feel like I haven't done much in 3 weeks,
and this is looming. LOL
