Five boats got to the line today. While the weather looked cruddy all day,
it was really quite a pleasant race. Starting on a Southerly of about 5-8
kts, the fleet all got to the first mark about the same time. Going upriver
with the current, Rebecca J was in her element. Wind 10 kts, oscillating
between SW and W, she kept gaining a few yards on the fleet with each tack.
The last leg to the finish was a broad reach the tightened almost to a fetch
as we neared shore, Alexis tried her chute to find a passing lane but was
stymied by the wind kept going ahead of her.
Finis order was: Rebbeca J- first, Alexis- second, Recovery third, Windrush
came in fourth followed very closely by a well-sailed Summer Breeze.
