Hello Tina. Thanks for giving the Main Menu show a listen. I really enjoyed being on there. As for me, I've used the Voice Sense a couple of times while out in the rain. It was not pouring a lot, but just lightly. I had on a jacket and before I put the jacket on, I put the Voice Sense over my shoulder like I always do. Zipping up the jacket was enough to cover it so it would not get wet. As for the receiver, it was affixed to the shoulder strip which was also behind the zipped jacket so it presented no problems. If I needed to hear any information, I would stop for a brief moment and reach inside my jacket to input the command. In some cases, it may help to set the multiple repeat commands in case you want to continuously hear certain information.

As for safety, where I usually travel, it's not much of a concern, so if the whether is nice, I simply let the Voice Sense hang off my left side from the shoulder strap. It's small enough that it does not stand out much more than someone who is carrying a PDA, CD player, or MP3 player in any case.

Hope this helps.

Hi. I just listened to this week's main menu and the gps talked about this week ounds like it's on a tiny device, but someone's comment made me wonder about carrying bigger things likethe braille note that can't fit in a pocket. Has anyone had problems using these devices or has anyone bugged you, tried to take your equipment thought you were weird because you were walking around with it? Wondering mostly about people's thoughts on the safety of the stuff being carried while its in use and what have people done with their bns in the rain? Do you just not use the gps then, do you virtually go thru the route and try to memorize it or write it down some other way so you can use it? It doesn't rain often where I live, but thought i'd ask anyway.
