I wonder what he uses to avoid crevices when he is in the lead? I suppose there's an App for that. Still, I would want to be two or three persons back with a keen ear for the descending screams.
Don't suppose he is using a braille display. They must have a stack of batteries, although it is mid summer and therefore more light it would take a lot to keep everything charged up.
Well, magnetic compasses don't work much as you approach the pole either do they.

I just got a call via satellite phone from one of the team skiing 600 milesto the South Pole. One of their blind participants is using Mobile Geo whenit is his turn to lead the group. They have now completed one third of the trip with no major health or equipment problems. They had their first resupply today. The temperature is around 0 with 30 mile per hour head winds.
