I am chuckling at this because a friend of mine was here for a visit last summer, I believe. We wanted to go to a restaurant, but I wasn't certain I could give good enough directions to find it. So, we used her car's GPS, but darned if she didn't pass the restaurant about three times. It is kind of tucked in between two businesses which are positioned more forward on the street line. We had a devil of a time getting in there. I now know what to tell someone, but she missed that location about three times before we got in there. Dianne B. Sounds familiar. Except that once the route has been recalculated, the results are read just as the car has zoomed past that turn, and the route has to be recalculated again. I had this one the other day on my st Louis visit. Just turning off the interstate, and approaching the first traffic light. N: Hey, we're early. See if you can find a place to get a cup of coffee. K: OK. The button for a POI lookup is hit. The light changes, and the car takes off. The POI results are in. We're two blocks down the road. N: Boy, the results you got aren't very accurate. All that stuff is way behind us. K: Next time you ask me for a look up. stay still long enough to find out. from KH -------------------------------------------------- From: "Sue Sweetman" <sue.sweetman@xxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, October 10, 2010 11:53 PM To: <gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [gps-talkusers] Only you guys will get it > How many of you have these conversations... > > Bob: Turn on Terra Bella. > Sue: No, I'm going to take Osborne. > Bob: OK, but Charles is going to be mad. > Bob: Now turn on Canterbury. > Sue: OK, as long as Kim has gone to all the work of recalculating I'll do > what she says. > > Sue > > To change your email settings (unsubscribe, digest only, or vacation > mode): > http://senderogroup.com/social_media/email.htm > > Additionally, to unsubscribe send an email to > gps-talkusers-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe" in the Subject. > To change your email settings (unsubscribe, digest only, or vacation mode): http://senderogroup.com/social_media/email.htm Additionally, to unsubscribe send an email to gps-talkusers-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe" in the Subject.
