The UK and dog thing is opening up now so may not be a real problem in
the middle term.  Its still a pain for casual travel though - Liam

Shelley,

In addition to what Matt said, I would add that the GPS comes with maps
for 
one country and you can always add other countries later.

Don't let the dog issues keep you from going anywhere other than the UK.

Every other country in Europe will accept dogs, some take a bit more 
paperwork than others. I have been to many with my dogs in the past as
well 
as with the GPS.

You already have the expensive part of the equation, the BrailleNote. A
new 
GPS is $1399.
