To my knowledge and I could be wrong here and am usually proven so swiftly but the blackberry is not accessible at all at this stage. I need to google again to see what's new but at one point I contacted RIM directly and received less than an enthusiastic response. The response I had gotten was from their director of accessibility and she informed me that the blind market was to small for their time and resources. (which isn't what I wanted to hear but has a kernel of truth to it) This was however more than a year ago. On the more encouraging side, I've heard rumblings that we might see some screen reading options for the b-berry from code factory or other sources. So, I don't think it's likely but as I've said my knowledge is a year or so out. Oh and RIM themselves have fild some patents so I think there is some sort of effort forming or possibly more.

As a side note, I'd jump on a b-berry in a hot second but the trend right now is away from RIM devices and to windows mobile and there will be some options with the Sendero engine in them available.

Hi Guys,

Have any of you heard of a GPS system that works with Blackberry and is
accessible to a person who is blind? Thanks, Catherine
