$ sudo docker ps -a
Cannot connect to the Docker daemon. Is the docker daemon running on this
host?

Try
sudo docker ps -a
If localhost is reverting to Apache, probably Apache service is still
running.

Still no joy, localhost reverts to apache ?
How do i Uninstall the existing gnukhata and reinstall afresh
how do i know which software is running apaches - do not recall
installing apache for any specific application
Also in future this would be an issue - where people would expect to run
an apache based software along with gnukhata ? or are there ways to tweak
this

After stopping your apache2 server, restart your docker service using
following command.
sudo service docker restart
Note: If you have more than one server applications(in your case
GNUKhata and Apache server) running on a single machine on the same port,
than its bound to conflict.

Hi
I think your Apache service is running .
You'll have to stop the Apache service and restart docker.
I guess it is some thing like sudo service apache2 stop or what ever
Can some one give the commands to start docker?
It is part of grouble shooting.
Happy hacking.
