It is highly possible that some thing has gone wrong in the machine
itself else such a thing can't happen.
You can always take a physical backup, or if you are able to follow some
technical stuff, the data is in postgresql RDBMS so you can do a pg_dump
command to get every thing.

How to do it?
When a DR entry is made the amount is copied to CR side also.
This way CR and DR tallies. If you want to make another entry
just change the CR amount or change the row from CR to DR.
After entering the amount in the relevant field press Enter. A
new row appears.
