Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. The performance will take place on Feb. 15th at 8 pm in the Concert Hall and there *will* be rhearsals over winter break. For more information email director Michael Bryant at mbryant@xxxxxxx Note: Vagina Monologues is not a GMU Players or Theater Department production. ------------------------------------- 3) LAST WEEKEND TO SEE "CHILDREN OF WAR" AT TFA "Children of War" will run Thursday through Sunday in Theaterspace. There are still $10 student tickets available through the CFA Box Office. "Children of War," part of the Undesirable Elements series from award-winning director Ping Chong, explores the stories of five D.C. area immigrants who have survived war, imprisonment, and other horrors before finding new lives in the United States. I saw the preview of this show last week, and it is extremely moving and emotionally powerful. If you are at all interested in theater as an instrument for social/political awareness and change, this is a show that you need to see. -Jim Maiwurm Washington Post story on "Children of War"- http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A8500-2002Dec4.html ------------------------------------- 4) Washington Post Guide To Cheap Student Tickets AND Web Listings For Ticketplace! Washington Post and Ticketplace news: Ticketplace is a little booth downtown by the Old Post Office Pavillion that sells same-day discounted tickets to shows. If you can be flexible, Ticketplace has some great deals, but they're downtown. However, they now have web listings through washingtonpost.com. Washingtonpost.com's guide to getting cheap theater tickets in the D.C. area: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/entertainment/new_features/theater/cheapticketsfeature.htm Washingtonpost.com's new listing of ticketplace's same-day half-price tickets: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/entertainment/new_features/theater/ticketplace.htm Note: The ticketplace listings on washingtonpost.com are NOT updated in real time; we still recommend that you call Ticketplace at 202-638-2406 to confirm listings and place orders. Also note that most student-price ticket programs require you to call the theater box office directly.
