I've been reading this week's traffic and thought I should chime in before I
got fired. <g>

I should have put the next topic forward before taking my vacation this
week. Sorry for slowing down the discussion by being a bottleneck.

There's really no reason why somebody else can't advance the "topic counter"
and start the next thread. Really all I've been doing is summarizing the
end of the previous thread, and then pulling the text for the next question
from the agenda.

Regarding the slow pace of discussion, there is a method to the madness.
I've deliberately tried to really let traffic die down before going to the
next topic, just to make sure everyone gets their voice heard. Yes, this
slows things down somewhat. But at least we avoid having multiple
overlapping discussions that are difficult to track and summarize.

Regarding Audio Units:

I think it would be great if an existing accepted plugin standard were
turned over to the MMA, in lieu of defining GMPI from scratch. A standard
that gets taken under the wing of the MMA can always be versioned, extended
and maintained as needed. I suspect there may be legal complications,
intellectual property, etc., to be reckoned with under such an arrangement.
