ok, don't worry about this anymore, the problem is definitly a bug in uim
: other applications are having problems with this lib, and it seems that
a bug report has already been filled.

Thanks for narrowing that down. Bluntly, I havn't the slightest idea, I never used libuim (not even installed). I will apt-get it and check. Might take a day or two... Will report back to you.
