For those of you who are using TTax for 2004 taxes, beweare of using the
"About TurboTax" option in the HELP menu.
For some reason, it bring up a screen that talks about a lot of component
parts of TTax, but which can not be closed, because the title bar does not
show. The only way to get out at that point is to close TTax with the old
CTRL/ALT/DEL routine and then reopen it. Their Tech Support person, to whom
I spoke this monring, said she knew about it because she'd gotten caught
with it, and I urged her to tell them to something about it on the FAQ lists
at the TTax site.
OTOH, I am truly impressed with the Tech Support this year - I sent an EMail
SOS about a glitch that had hit me yesterday, and got an EMail back today
saying they would call me - they spend about 40 minutes on the phone,
walking me through it.
Also, you can order all the updates, free, on a CD at the end of the month,
so that if you have to use this year's program in the future after you've
uninstalled it, you'll have the updates.
They also keep all updates for four years, so if you reinstall a TTax
program for three years back, you can get it updates.
