The only way to store a receipt in Quicken is to scan it and then attach it to the transaction in the register. (Actually, the scanned copy is just attached to the Quicken User file and it opens if you click on the attachment icon in the register). Otherwise, all Quicken knows is what is entered in a transaction. This is usually how much you spent, where, and for what (the latter by your category and possible memo entry, and/or a note if you use the note feature). If you spend on different categories for a single transaction (as is often the case at Costco or Safeway), you'll have details, providing you entered them as splits in the transaction. i.e. a $100.00 payment at Safeway might be split into categories like; Groceries...55.00 Postage.....22.00 Liquor.......23.00 Mind you, Quicken entries are not true receipts. They can give you the information you need, but whether a merchant will consider it proof of purchase is a moot point. However, if it's something like a home improvement item, if you had both the credit card statement showing the purchase, and a printout of the Quicken transaction record, together the IRS might consider it proof. TOM SPOTT???? But, if you're looking for a true copy of the whole purchase and only entered the total amount without splitting out the items, you're pretty much out of luck with Quicken for a source. It's possible that Amex might have a scanned copy of the original receipt. Have you tried calling them? It is America Express c.c. receipt from Safeway that was misplaced and I need a duplicate with the details for accounting purposes. Safeway has a problem providing a duplicate. I thought that there was a way of getting a copy from Quicken.
