Apparently the speed of light would decrease towards zero as we approach the centre of the (concave) earth.

(Light would also not travel in straight lines.)

Why a log scale Philip?

Jack

I was being involuted in a convoluted way. If the length of a mile got shorter the further away from the earth we went on a logarithmic scale then we could very easily fit infinity inside Nevilles hollow earth...

Actually we have no way of ever proving or knowing if this did not happen. As the 100 ft long ship got close to mars, it could quite easily have shortened to a few inches in length, and everything inside proportionally so..  sound and light speed all maintaining the same relative values..  No more astounding, and no less rediculous than the time dilation or length contraction theories acceptable to some elements of modern science.
Philip.
