>> Jen, you can step in here any time now! << Sorry! With half my mail tied up in Outlook which I couldn't access and the other half on the web, I am just started to the this thread pieced together now that Outlook is working again. Not much to add to what Rich had to say other than yeah, we try to have something for the kids to do if they aren't up to the caching. Doesn't have to be too elaborate, just something to make it fun for them too. We try to have something geocaching themed, like last picnic they set up a little "Follow the Frog cut outs to the kids cache" that was really neat. Since the kids aren't eligible for the attendance prize, we like to have something so the kid get some little age appropriate prizes, critter keepers, dollar store trinkets, etc. Simple midway games wouldn't be a bad idea though. Our subdivision has a little party each year with a simple football toss, hole in one golf, basket ball throw, duck pond, that the kids love! Mostly they just made these themselves, nothing really elaborate. But hey, I have seen a brochure for those rides! For a few hundred $ we could have a miniature ferris wheel! LOL (Putting on treasurer hat now, we don't have the money for that!) Jen- Treasurer and Event Committee Chairman in need of more committee members. Hey, We have a fun group so far so join in!
