- Well I had my walking stick with me. So I probably could have. After the original jump back, I used the stick to move some honeysuckle to get a better look and to verify my identification. It was a beauty! I wished I had my camera! I really did not want to disturb the snake any more. It could have also had a friend so I did not particularly want to be picking up more rotten logs. It was the highlight of the day.
