I back Glenn's decision. Tolerating rudeness because of someone's age does
no one a favor. It teaches the rude person that it is an acceptable
behaviour and it causes the rest of the group to fall apart. Glenn did not
kick Chris off the list. But he is doing what he can to keep the rest of the
list together while hopefully giving Chris a chance to grow up and see what
it takes to be a productive member of a community. That seems fair to me.

I think we all know that an occasional off topic discussion has always been
ok. But the direction this list has taken in the last few weeks is
worrysome. Maybe with some moderation, the arguements will stop and we can
go back to normal. A very important skill to learn in the cyber world, or in
any community for that matter, is learning when to hold your tongue and what
an appropriate response is.

Yes, I have kids and I remember what it was like to be a kid. But, if my
children were to act with such a lack of respect they would have lost
previleges to use the computer. I expect more from my children. That's how
they learn what is appropriate.
