We've had dogs much older whose names and nicknames we gradually changed, sometimes drastically, and they still responded. We once adopted a stray who was about 8 years old. Who knows what he had been called before. We started calling him Ryne, then Ryne-n-koogle, to finally Koog by the time he passed away several years later. (yeah, don't ask, we're weird about names) but anyway, he always knew who he was no matter which name we used. Hope that was useful! We were given a 5 month old Pei, who's name happens to be Cujo. My problem or question is that with us having Kosmo, both names sound very similar and both dogs respond at the same time when I call either name. At 5 months of age is it too late to change Cujo's name? Would you change the name? Any opinions? If not any name suggestions? Email me off list please. Thanks Jen
