I recently purchased a Garmin Legend HCx and took it with me to Cliff Cave park
last weekend. Although the unit captures satellite signals pretty good, the
red pointer does not point to the direction of the cache (or any other
destination) until you are traveling 2-2.5 miles per hour. I'm not very good
in running to the cache sites. After 2-2.5mph the pointer becomes active and
so does the digital speedometer. Up until that speed you can't trust the
pointer.

Is there a setting to activate the pointer at slower speeds? And why doesn't
the speedometer work until the 2-2.5mph speed is reached? Any tech advise
would be greatly appreciated.
