We still need sign ups for May and June! Bremen Museum Art Therapy Workshops Need Sign Ups Along with their exhibit of Maurice Sendak's illustrations for "Where the Wild Things Are" and other art and writings of his, museum staff are hosting 6 Sunday family days, with hands on activities in the gallery for young children inspired by the principles of Art Therapy (in collaboration with the Georgia Art Therapy Association). Georgia Art Therapy Association will be listed on all exhibit materials as a partnering organization. The dates for the family days are Sunday afternoons: Jan 25 - Jenny Welty-Green, jweltygreen@xxxxxxxxx Feb 15 - Susanne F. Fincher & Susan P. Johnson, sfincher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx March 29 - Carolyn Treadon & Linda Jo Haythorn clb246624@xxxxxxxxx April 26 - Gayle Torres wheeliecelt@xxxxxxxxx May 31 - June 28 - This is a golden opportunity to represent you and your art therapy practice, as well as the profession of art therapy! Art therapists are invited to share their business cards and other information with people attending the exhibit. You can create your own workshop theme, ideally, but not necessarily, related to Sendak's work in some way. Also, projects that help parents and kids better communicate with and understand each other are requested. Workshops are to be for 2 hours, and can be either drop-in, open studio format or theme centered with participants required to begin at the beginning of the workshop session. Young children (through 2nd grade) will attend, and be accompanied by an adult. You can propose to present to older children as well, but we have been asked to provide art therapists for sure with the young children's art explorations in the gallery. Bremen will provide money toward art materials. GATA also has its own materials. Seems like this will be an ideal use for them. Please get in touch with me with the dates you are available. You can volunteer for more than one date, if you like. Specific workshop topics need not be developed right away. Just let me know when you are available. The exhibit opened November, 2014. Let's take advantage of this incredible opportunity to let art therapy shine! Susanne F. Fincher DO NOT REPLY to this email. Reply to Susanne at: sfincher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
