Section 4. Play Loop was intersting. Just 3 words: New 3-D engine. Hehe.

All the references to NeXT computers were interesting, since Carmack used
one to write the game. It was cool to read this design document, since I
just got done reading _Masters of Doom_ by David Kushner.
