It may be worth telling Tynia House about the time crunch and asking her to approve bringing computers into the library on Thursday or Friday and store them until Saturday; then you could start on time.

I would say not to actually move up the start time, because with the situation at the library we have to unload all of the pc's first take them upstairs and then start the class so having the people there to give a hand unloading the pc's makes this process a lot faster, and with the allotted time given for the class, we can complete it on time. Kevin and I work well with the classes to make sure that we do not run late on ending. We have had all kinds of issues happen at our classes and we have always been done early, sometimes an hour early!

O.K. Sounds like an overall success, problems and all.....if
Kevin could send those name he took down, and Tom could get the
older list, or the one with the updates I sent after scheduling
the first class, and a definate Date / time, I will get started on
calling for the next class...Sounds like we need to move the start
time up a bit to, say 9:30 -9:45......? Will get to work as soon
    as I get the lists...

Just a little FYI on our class from Saturday:
We had 4 'A' listers show up and 2 'B' listers show up,
everyone was on time. Although at 11:00 am we had 2 people
show up and 1 was a 'B' list with someone else who was
interested in taking the class. Kevin has all of the names of
everyone who showed up. I was bascially tied up with the
stupid laptop most of the time.

With using the library we are only able to gain entry upon
opening so we need to take that into consideration when we do
our scheduling. We were able to complete our class with plenty
of time (if I remember correctly we were all outside loading
up computers by 11:45am and not bad considering we were not
able to get started with the class until about 9:45 or so.

We still are having presentation laptop problems...
The laptop has VL 6 rc3 I believe loaded on it (Goose
installed this) and upon loading the resolution had went down
to 800x600 or something to that effect, I was not really
paying attention to it at first, I started playing the GNU
video first so I could finish setting up. The laptop started
out fine, displaying the slideshow through the projector,
while the video was playing (BTW I still can only get video to
play through a portable dvd player instead of the laptop) I
adjusted the resolution on the laptop and then I could not get
any display through the projector, I tried everything
adjusting the resolution again, rebooting everything, when I
would shutdown and restart the video would show through the
projector so that eliminates a hardware issue.
I was able to over come this issue only by moving the
presentation files to another directory and logging in under
root and was able to make the presentation via ROOT.

The class went fine although 3 of the receiptiants did not
have a vehicle for transportation, so Kevin provided delivery
service. I think that we need to make sure that when people
are contacted about attending our class they need to be
informed that at the completion of the class they will be
recieving a computer consisting of a tower, monitor, keyboard
and mouse, and that they will need to make sure that they have
a way of transporting it home, I do not know what Transpo will
say if someone takes one on the bus, but the problem that they
are going to have is carrying everything to the bus stop and
        then home.

Let us see where Imre is standing with loading systems that he
is currently working on, and we can schedule our next class in
about 2 weeks. If we want to try setting up an evening during
the week sometime as well as Saturday that is fine with me. I
believe Kevin said that he would be interested in doing that
as well. I think this will help out with people that may have
        obligations on Saturdays.

BTW guys how was the LUG?
