Would it look better if the main text would be slightly away from the left
border? I've seen a left margin on many sites, but don't have a strong
opinion
on that.
The padding on the main element should provide proper spacing between the
text and the edge of the page. The border of that element's background
touching the page edge is ok, in my opinion.
Just in case the rendering is different for some people, here's a
