I'm vaguely thinking of doing a 2.6.2 release on the weekend of
15/16 February (with an eye on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and getting Gtk3.22
fixes into Debian now that it is their default client).
I haven't written draft NEWS for it yet.
I have now: <

I propose a string freeze at the start of Friday 7 Feb (to give that
full weekend for translators).
This is still the plan. (So, any string-touching patches would need to
be in hrm by mid-Wednesday at the latest, to be committed in time.)
There are some pending patches that touch strings, that will be
committed between now and then.
