His Nibs.com update -- Hero Accountant & Wing Sung February 4th, 2007 This week brings the return of a real favorite, the Hero 237-1 Accountant pen -- with its XXF nib -- and a 'new' model Wing Sung. The Wing Sung 233 is a new model for the website, but these pens are actually NOS (new, old stock). "Norman, just wanted to let you know I received the Hero Accountant pens last week, and they're wonderful - it's the finest point I've found in a fountain pen, and I'm surprised at the quality for this price. Thanks again!" M. M., Salt Lake City, UT "Norman, I just received my new Hero 237-1 "Accountant" pens - THEY ARE FABULOUS!!! I tend to like a finer nib on my pens, and have found most to be a bit scratchy . . . . Not these . . . . They have a VERY fine point, but write like butter. As usual, your products are everything you claim them to be. I look forward to using these pens at work, and dispensing with the ball-points and roller-balls that I have in my desk, you know, the ones that skip or leave big blobs of ink. Thanks again." T. H., Vancouver, WA "Hello Norman. I love the pens. They draw a fine line, but do not skip. Filled one with Chocolat and the other with Lake Placid Blue. These are great checkbook pens. They would probably be highly regarded by "Moleskin" devotees." The pen sports a steel cap with subtle pinstriping and a spring-loaded clip. The cap band is marked with the Chinese characters for 'Wing Sung', as well as the model number '233' and 'Wing Sung' in English. Removing the slip cap -- which securely snaps back into place -- displays the wrap-around, conical nib. It's gold-plated steel, and equates to a western fine. Like most nibs designed for the Asian market, it's designed to be firm for writing the more intricate Chinese characters. The nib is engraved with the Chinese characters for 'Wing Sung', along with 'Made in China' written in English. Also readily apparent is the ambered ink-vue window, which allows the user to instantly determine when it's time for a refill. Unscrewing the barrel reveals the pump-style filler, for use with bottled ink. She is just one of a growing list of people who have disappeared from cruise ships in mysterious circumstances. Some of these deaths may be suicides, writes Gwyn Topham, but others appear more sinister. And of course there are no police out on the ocean . . ." With more than 30 people having disappeared from cruise ships in the last 5 years alone, the mystery continues.
