Gaylon,

I am a Service Resident at a refinery with > 125 XP boxes. Pick a
version. 7.1, 8.0b, 8.1.1, 8.2, 8.3. If I had boxes locking up every 72
days, I would be screaming very LOUDLY. I have boxes that have not been
rebooted in years.

I have never heard of this 72 day lockup.

Subject: [foxboro] XP Workstations - 72 day lockup?

List Gurus,

Let my start by saying that this is a fishing expedition. I have heard
second hand from a sister plant that they were told by someone in
Foxboro (you know this is going to be good when it starts out this way)
that the 8.x XP workstations will lock up every 72 days and require a
reboot, and that this is a problem with all the XP 8.x systems. Just
FYI - this problem has been seen on XP workstations on other control
platforms at our sister plants.

Has anybody seen this with the Foxboro XP workstations, or have any
information on it? We have had XP AW70s here since July, and I think
that they have run longer than 72 days at a stretch, but maybe not.

Thanks,
Gaylon Hicks
