Thank you Russ, and yes the Timer Blocks are in the same compound as the
sequence block. This was the first time we have observed the STOP_TIMER
failure after many months of this sequence block running.

Subject: Re: [foxboro] STOP_TIMER Function Failure to Stop the Timer

Michael,

For clarification purposes, was the timer block in the same compound as
the
sequence block? If not, was it in the same CP?

I have always considered these unsecured calls risky but sometimes
unavoidable. We have CP40Bs that have had similar problems with timer
commands but the timers were located in another station. The solution
was to
concentrate the desired run state of the timer into a Boolean output of
the
sequence block and then explicitly connect it.

If the problem is sporadic, I would chalk it up to overruns or a
communication issue; if it is constant I would have a fresh set of eyes
look
for a typo.
